Nisan Talaz (b.1990, Manisa) graduated from Anadolu University, Department of Industrial Design, in 2013. Between 2013 and 2020, she gained experience by working in various sculpture studios. In 2020, she founded her own studio and began her independent production practice. She continues her artistic practice through the synthesis of her design background and hands-on studio experience. Her work constructs a conceptual ground that explores the relationship between nature and the human condition. Centering on cyclical themes such as birth, death, and rebirth, she uses the malleable structure of clay as both a metaphorical and physical tool. Through this material representing the formlessness of nature, she makes visible the ideas of continuity and transformation inherent to natural processes. In her recent works, she incorporates the rigid and enduring nature of metal into her practice, enriching her material language and establishing a formal balance.
