Art ON Istanbul presents Sonsuz Körlük, a solo exhibition by Ilgın Seymen. In her works, shown for the first time, the artist magnifies the consumption-driven lifestyle of contemporary humans through everyday objects and products, using a colorful, darkly humorous visual language.

Seymen’s works, which have been exhibited internationally in San Francisco, New York, Berlin, and Seoul, explore different formal experiments in Sonsuz Körlük. Through sculpture, paper works, collage, and installation, she engages with various techniques from an interdisciplinary perspective, opening doors to new kinds of experimentation for the audience. The artist critically examines the hedonistic impulses fueled by consumerism, drawing inspiration from advertising language and messages. In an era where happiness is increasingly defined by greater and more luxurious consumption, she develops a display approach grounded in two metaphors: the “pink world” and the “real world” behind it. The exhibition’s title, Sonsuz Körlük (“Endless Blindness”), reflects the critical perspective that emerges from the relationship between these two contrasting ideas.

The title also alludes to the temporary pleasures of cosmetic and beautifying products that encourage us to “paint over” our own vision, highlighting the addictive nature of the possessions in our lives. Through her imagery, Seymen communicates to the viewer the hidden dangers of the habitual chains we become part of without even noticing.
