Art On İstanbul presents Ozan Türkkan’s exhibition “Fractum Regnum”, on view from December 3 to 30.
Türkkan, a new media artist working across Paris, Barcelona, and Istanbul, focuses on experimental media and digital arts, particularly computer-generated works and imagery. The exhibition features virtual reality installations, holographic works, light-frequency-based perceptual installations, as well as generative videos and 3D lenticular prints resulting from his research into fractal geometry. In this show, the relationship between artwork, space, and viewer is reimagined: Türkkan transports visitors into an abstract world while prompting them to return to their unique selves, emphasizing the importance of immersive experience.
The concept of “Fractum Regnum” stems from the artist’s longstanding research into sacred geometry, fractal geometry, nature’s algorithms, and their reflections on human consciousness. Türkkan concretizes the transient nature of existence and the material and cognitive transformations of universal being from one form to another in his works.
In Subtle, a full-room audiovisual holographic installation, Türkkan creates an evolving organic entity within the space inspired by fractal structures in nature. Coupled with 3D prints, this immersive environment challenges and expands the viewer’s perception.
The VR installation Substance abstracts the relationship with the external world and space, taking viewers toward an essence both familiar and inaccessible to conventional experience, encouraging solitary introspection.
Türkkan also divides the gallery space in unconventional ways with a light-based installation, creating a perception of space and time that differs from what is normally seen.
“Fractum Regnum” invites the audience to surprising, immersive experiences and can be seen at Art On İstanbul until Saturday, December 30.
