Zeki Demirkubuz (b. 1964, Isparta) is a filmmaker and photographer based in Istanbul. He graduated from the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul University. His debut feature C Blok (1994) was followed by acclaimed films including Masumiyet (1997), Üçüncü Sayfa (1999), Yazgı (2001), İtiraf (2001), Kader (2006), Yeraltı (2012), and Hayat (2023). His works have been screened and celebrated at major international festivals and institutions such as the Venice Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and the Viennale.
Demirkubuz’s photographic practice reflects his cinematic sensibility—marked by restraint, stillness, and an unfiltered gaze that reveals the quiet intensity of ordinary life.
