Utkan Akbıyık (b.2002) is an Istanbul-based artist currently pursuing a BA in Fine Arts at Yeditepe University on a full scholarship. Trained in classical academic painting, he has developed a deep understanding of figurative techniques while also embracing an interdisciplinary approach to explore contemporary art practices across different materials and textures.
His work draws on personal experiences, relationships, memories, and the emotions they evoke. Akbıyık engages with a wide visual archive, including digital culture and cinema, creating compositions that blend everyday imagery with ambiguous, emotionally charged scenes, fostering a sense of shared experience with the viewer.
