Canan Dağdelen (b.1960) is a Vienna-based artist whose practice explores the intersections of ceramics, architecture, and language. She studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and earned her master’s degree from the University of Applied Arts Vienna, where she has also been teaching since 2003. Dağdelen’s work reinterprets early Islamic architecture through porcelain spheres, scaled models, and text-based installations, addressing notions of transience, belonging, and spatial order. She has exhibited internationally at institutions such as the MAK Museum of Applied Arts (Vienna), Kunsthalle Wien, Museum Angewandte Kunst (Frankfurt), and the Istanbul Modern, and has participated in biennials and group exhibitions across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
